A Showcase of Hawai'i Agriculture
Mealani's Taste of the Hawaiian Range is an agricultural festival that originated in the Big Island ranching town of Waimea (Kamuela). It began as a humble companion event to the Cooperate Extension Services' Mealani Forage Field Day, which featured the research being done at the Mealani Research Station.
In partnership with the local community and the College of Tropical Agriculture and Human Resources (CTAHR) the festival brings together food producers and processors, chefs and consumers to celebrate the bounty of the Big Island.
Now marking its 16th anniversary, Mealani's Taste of the Hawaiian Range
has become one of Hawaii's premier ag-tourism
events.
Vision and Mission
The purpose of the Mealani's Taste of the Hawaiian Range is to provide an educational venue to encourage and support local production of agricultural products through social, cultural and scientific exchanges. It features a diverse array of talents brought together for the purpose of developing an ethos of compatibility, tranquility and sustainability with this land we co-inhabit.

A Hawai'i Community Partnership
The quality and growth of the festival are rooted in small business participation, sponsorship and in-kind donations. It is truly a gathering of the companies and individuals who produce food for the Big Island.
The event is a partnership between CTAHR, Hawaii Cattlemen's Association, Hawaii Cattlemen's Council, Kulana Foods and community volunteers. Sponsorship also includes the Hawai'i Tourism Authority, the Hawai'i County Research and Development, Big Island Resource Conservation & Development, Hawa'ii Community College Food Service & Culinary Program and KTA SuperStores.
